Sanya's aerospace industry bolstered by innovation

Sanya has made many achievements in the aerospace industry in recent years, which were driven by the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port and the Sanya's creation of a national innovative city.

As of May, Sanya Zhongke Remote Sensing Industrial Park, which focuses on creating a strategic aerospace industry hub, has introduced and incubated 322 enterprises, with an output value of about 120 million yuan ($17.9 million) and a cumulative number of 228 intellectual property rights.

The first four optical satellites of Hainan-1, which are part of Sanya Zhongke Remote Sensing Industrial Park's constellation of small earth observation satellites, have launched. The remaining six satellites are scheduled to launch by 2025. The satellites are mainly applied for earth observation and ship identification, serving industries like natural resources, agriculture, forestry, ocean, as well as urban management.

The National Space Administration has established a high-resolution application product system in the park, including six business application fields of major national strategic planning, resource survey and monitoring, environmental monitoring and evaluation, urban refined management, agriculture, as well as ocean products, which provide a scientific basis for the development of government-related business.

In addition, the industrial park has also promoted the construction of a national key laboratory, an international academic exchange center, as well as a space science and technology museum, forming a high-tech industrial hub integrating production, learning, research, and applications.
