When seen from a distance, the hall of intelligent power supply center in Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City, Binhai New Area, impresses many people.

Its arched roof covered by 148 photovoltaic panels provides energy for the building's electricity and heating. Launched by State Grid Tianjin Electric Power, it marks China’s first electric-optical-thermal integrated power system of building.

It represents more efficient solutions for the large-scale development of distributed solar energy resources in cities in the future.

As China is pursuing low-carbon transition, it is of great significance to vigorously promote the application of rooftop photovoltaic technology.

"The current average daily power generation of the system is 260 kWh, which can reduce the overall heating cost in winter by more than 50 percent," said Li Yutong, the project manager at State Grid Tianjin Electric Power Company.

The energy system converts solar energy into heat energy and electrical energy synchronously and meet all the energy needs of buildings.

In the future, the company will dedicate to new energy and continue to optimize the complementary operation mechanism of flat-panel photovoltaic modules and air source heat pumps and other equipment, and further explore the feasibility of this project in large-scale public construction and industrial fields.
