Jinpu adds 18 gazelle start-ups in 2021

Dalian Science and Technology Bureau has announced that in 2021, 57 new gazelle companies were added to Dalian, injecting strong innovation momentum into the local economic development.

Among them, Jinpu New Area has 18 new gazelle enterprises, including Xinhai Hexing Science and Technology (Dalian) Co., and Yizhong Group Dalian Engineering Construction Co.

Gazelle companies refer to start-ups founded in the 2000s that are worth over $500 million and are not yet publicly listed. They are most likely to go "unicorn" or hit a valuation of $1 billion within three years.

Since 2019, Dalian has intensified its efforts to cultivate high-tech enterprises, giving all-around support in project research and development, platform construction, talent training. It has issued more than 1 billion yuan ($156 million) of funds for scientific and technological innovation.

At present, Dalian has a total of 903 young eagle enterprises, 127 gazelles, and four unicorns. Jinpu New Area has a total of 49 gazelle companies.
