While doing a good job in implementing strict COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control measures, Hechi's tourism market saw a recovery during the three-day Dragon Boat Festival holiday, which fell from June 3 to 5 this year.

The city welcomed 5.3 million tourists and generated 353.3 million yuan ($53 million) in tourism revenue over the holiday, the Hechi municipal bureau of culture, broadcasting, sports and tourism reported on June 5.

During the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, various folk activities were held in Hechi. Nandan county held Dragon Boat Festival folk cultural tourism activities, such as lion dances and rice dumpling making in Wu'ai town. Fengshan county held a series of festival celebrations at Sanmenhai town, including Fengshan agricultural special products, tourism products, and cultural products exhibitions, as well as Zhuang and Yao performances, attracting many tourists.

In addition, the resumption of cross-provincial tourism has added vitality to the tourism market. On May 28, a group of 112 tourists from Guizhou province arrived in Bama Yao autonomous county to start a longevity exploration trip. This was the first group of tourists from outside the autonomous region to arrive in Bama after the resumption of cross-provincial tourism in Guangxi. Since the beginning of this year, travel agencies have organized more than 20,000 tourists from all over the country and they have been traveling to Bama since May 28.
