In ancient China, glass ware was usually used by wealthy families.

The blue lotus-shaped cup and saucer dating to the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368) show elegance and charm, representing the advanced art of glass making. The set was used for drinking tea, revealing the exquisite lifestyle of its owner.

Unearthed from the tomb of the famous Wang family in Zhangxian county, Gansu province, the exquisite cup and saucer are treasures of the Gansu Provincial Museum.
