As the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic in Shanghai becomes more stabilized and improved, the city's Pudong New Area has beefed up efforts to help all sectors resume operations in a gradual and orderly manner, ensuring the security and stability of industrial and supply chains.

The flagship store of Sam's Club in Waigaoqiao New Development Park in Pudong resumed offline operations in early May.

Shoppers must wear face masks and everyone has to present a negative nucleic acid test result taken within 48 hours and scan the venue QR code.

The store welcomed about 750 customers on May 16, which was the most customer flow in May, and the store had made full preparations to ensure a safe and sound environment for shoppers, according to a store staff member.

French retailer Carrefour reopened its branch store in Jinqiao, and more than 20 outlets of Freshhema resumed offline operations.

A number of large-scale shopping malls in Pudong have also gradually resumed operations, such as Taikoo Li Qiantan, which started welcoming consumers on May 20. Catering shops in the mall only offer delivery services at present, but customers can order online and pick up by themselves.

According to local authorities, a total of 1,254 commercial sites resumed operations as of May 23, including 444 that have resumed offline business.
