Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden announced on Monday it will reopen to the public on June 1 with visitor capacity capped at 50 percent of maximum.

The park said people have to make reservations at least one day ahead of their visit and show a negative nucleic acid test result taken within 72 hours prior to entry.

The canteen, conservatory, boat, quarry garden and other indoor facilities will remain closed, but camping is allowed.

The Shanghai Landscaping and City Appearance Bureau said earlier that around 100 parks will be open by the end of May, and the rest of parks and gardens will also reopen starting on June 1.

The bureau said it had set up venue codes in around 400 parks in the city as of Thursday, and visitors will be required to scan the code to register their health information.
