Hechi holds garbage classification promotional event

The Hechi municipal garbage classification office recently held a garbage classification promotional event in Jinchengjiang district, aiming to strengthen public awareness of garbage classification, as well as guiding residents to participate in the creation of a national and autonomous-level civilized city.

During the event, volunteers provided information regarding garbage classification to the public and guided people to understand the reasons behind garbage classification. There was also a display board on site publicizing waste sorting information for people to learn from. The event also held interesting games themed around garbage classification to further engrain the concept of garbage classification.

Since Hechi promoted garbage classification in 2020, the city has carried out more than 80 promotional events of various types and distributed more than 75,000 publicity materials themed around garbage classification. In addition, it held three large-scale domestic waste classification training sessions and organized more than 200 training sessions, training over 5,000 people.

To date, the city has installed more than 100 household waste sorting booths in units, public places, and residential quarters, as well as added and replaced more than 2,000 sets of various waste sorting bins.

Hechi is actively promoting the construction of the first phase of its kitchen waste treatment center, which is expected to be delivered by the end of the year, according to an official of the Hechi municipal garbage classification office.

The city will further increase garbage classification publicity, set up garbage classification pilot areas in Jinchengjiang district, Yizhou district, and Nandan county, as well as gradually spread its garbage classification campaign to the whole city.
