The large LNG or liquefied natural gas tanker, the CESI WENZHOU, berthed on March 27 at the Guanghui Lyusi LNG terminal – situated in the county-level city of Qidong in East China's Jiangsu province – carrying 72,043 tons of LNG that can supply thousands of households.

It is the fifth LNG tanker that Lyusi Port has received in the current year, injecting much-needed power into the energy supply amid the COVID-19 epidemic.

Such high-profile LNG carriers play an important role in the energy supply mix and are not unnaturally one of the focuses of the local maritime department's services. Laying equal emphasis on epidemic prevention and control and marine traffic safety, the maritime affairs office in Qidong is said to be undertaking a range of measures to ensure the smooth transportation of key energy supplies such as LNG.

The CESI WENZHOU has a length of 290 meters and a width of 45.59 meters. The volume of gas it carried will convert to 163,540 cubic meters after gasification. It is estimated that with each household consuming an average 25 cubic meters of natural gas per month, it can satisfy the demands of 6,540 households per month.
