Sunan Shuofang International Airport in Wuxi National Hi-tech District (also known as Wuxi New District) in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, has taken measures to ensure a stable supply chain for southern Jiangsu.

Since the start of this year, the airport has accelerated the construction of operating places for raw materials urgently needed by local companies and improved its work plan for the import business of cool chain hazardous goods.

To satisfy epidemic prevention requirements in cargo transportation, government departments have also opened a green security check channel at the airport and assign specific persons to thoroughly disinfect the cargo.

In addition, the airport also provides online reservation services for freight vehicles from other cities to handle air cargo business.

Seventy-two cargo aircraft have departed from or arrived at Shuofang airport this year, importing 228,00 metric tons of raw materials for local companies and transporting more than 600 tons of electronic accessories.

Jiangsu reported 13 new locally-transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases and 65 asymptomatic carriers on April 7. Currently, 80 confirmed cases in the province are being treated at designated hospitals and 648 asymptomatic carriers are being quarantined and under medical observation.
