Slender West Lake to stage Chinese dance drama

Yangzhou's famous scenic spot Slender West Lake held an event to promote its dance drama Chun Jiang Hua Yue Ye (春江花月夜), or Spring River in the Flower  Moon Night, at Yuyuan Garden in Shanghai on Feb 28.

The 60-minute show, composed with nine parts, highlights the charm of Yangzhou, featuring the cultural elements of the 2,500-year-old city.

The show will be staged regularly at Slender West Lake at 8 pm every night from Marvh 8, which marks that spring, the best time to appreciate the park, has come.

Slender West Lake is dotted with Jiangnan-style (which refers to areas in East China on the southern banks of the Yangtze River) gardens and amazes visitors with its graceful natural beauty and architecture. The layout was formed during the emperors Kangxi and Qianlong's reigns in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).
