This is the first time that China's luge team, which was established in 2015, has competed in the Olympics. Though the team is relatively new to the sport, four young Chinese lugers competed in all categories of the sport at the ongoing Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.

During their training, Ningbo Eliga Sports Technology Co Ltd, a company in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province, offered a digital training facility for the team starting last June.

Zhang Qiling, a former fitness coach for the Chinese national sports team, introduced the training equipment. "We used to count the training data manually, which was inefficient. But the training facility was equipped with a data management system, which can collect data on the athletes and analyze their development."

According to Dong Chaoyi, the sports technology manager of Eliga, coaches can also make a scientific training plan with the help of the data management system.

In addition, another training facility created by the company is being used by more than 60 athletes from China's ski teams, some of whom will compete in the upcoming Beijing 2022 Paralympic Winter Games.
