General Aviation and Satellite Industrial Park in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) has been focusing on the introduction of major projects, especially from leading companies, to boost its economy.

The park is currently home to over 20 key projects in fields such as general aviation, new energy, satellites, and Intelligent emergency response, involving a gross investment of 60 billion yuan ($9.42 billion).

On the construction site of the Xpeng automobile workshop, one of the aforementioned projects, hundreds of workers are building the main structures for several factories. The workshop has a planned production capacity of 100,000 cars annually, which is expected to create more than 30 billion yuan in output value.

CALB's power cell and battery for energy storage manufacturing base is also under construction after its commencement half a year earlier.

The two above-mentioned 10-billion-yuan-level projects are all based in the General Aviation and Satellite Industrial Park.

"Last year, before we moved into the park, officials patiently informed us of many potential problems we might encounter," said Zhang Xiang, manager of the CALB’s power cell and battery for energy storage manufacturing base project, who also highlighted the park's arrangement for workers that will soon move into the park, mentioning their working conditions, accommodations and meals. The considerate services from the government have ensured the project can be carried out smoothly.

"This year, we will further optimize our work procedures and help enterprises overcome problems in order to get the projects up and running as soon as possible," said Wang Jiamao, Party secretary of the park's management office.

Xpeng's workshop and the first phase of the CALB's cell manufacturing base are expected to begin operating in October and before December, respectively.
