Hechi sees rapid tourism development in 2021

In 2021,  Hechi promoted the continuous development of its cultural tourism industry relying on its ecology, life longevity, people's ethnicity, and red cultural tourism resources. The city received 42.3 million domestic and foreign tourists in 2021, a year-on-year increase of 22.71 percent with a total tourism consumption of 51.4 billion yuan ($8.1 billion), a year-on-year increase of 20.9 percent.

In 2021, Hechi promoted 117 big health and cultural tourism industry projects, with an investment of 3.9 billion yuan. The city also added three national 4A-level tourist attractions, two five-star rural tourism areas in Guangxi, and two four-star rural tourism areas in Guangxi.

The Duonu community in the Lihu Yao township, Nandan county was listed as the key national rural tourism village in China by the Culture and Tourism Ministry. Dahua Yao autonomous county established Guangxi's "all-for-one" tourism demonstration area. Luocheng Mulam autonomous county's Mianhua Tiankeng was selected as the second batch of traditional Chinese medicine health tourism demonstration bases in Guangxi. Damou town in Dahua Yao autonomous county was rated as Guangxi's leisure tourist block.

Hechi has striven to create a tourism brand and promote the integrated development of cultural tourism and related industries. Simultaneously it carried out the construction of infrastructure and major tourism projects.  The city's administrative villages achieved a 100 percent road hardening rate allowing passenger cars to reach every village easily. This allows for the convenience and comfort of tourism to be continuously improved.

In the next step, Hechi will focus on upgrading its cultural tourism industry, accelerating the construction of high-end cultural tourism projects, and building an international wellness and living tourist destination.
