Its location boasts convenient transportation accessibility, with Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and Guangzhou South Railway Station reachable in one hour, as well as Greater Bay Area cities like Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Foshan, and Zhuhai reachable in two hours.

Once the project comes into operation, it will be committed to key technological breakthroughs in meteorological forecast and warnings, high-end meteorological talent training, as well as intelligent equipment R&D.

Wang Sihua, deputy director of the Huangpu meteorological bureau, noted that the project will accentuate the role of meteorology as the first line of defense in disaster prevention and reduction, as well as provide meteorological support to the construction of the Greater Bay Area.
