Hechi develops food culture industry to promote tourism development

In recent years, Hechi has been attaching great importance to the protection and maintaining of its food culture resources. It has gradually formed an atmosphere in which the food culture industry and tourism industry promote each other's development.

Hechi's counties and districts have been driving the development of the whole industry chain with the aid of its food culture industry. For example, Dahua Yao autonomous county has introduced policies to support and reward the development of the catering industry.

In order to promote the protection and inheritance of the national food culture, Hechi actively built various local food display and experience venues. To date, the city has built several venues such as the exhibition hall of Zhuang traditional production skills, the Babao rice production training center in Huaiyuan Ancient Town, and Du'an Yao ethnic group's dustpan banquet training center.

Meanwhile, six autonomous region-level intangible cultural heritage projects including Nandan Danquan wine brewing skills, 11 municipal-level intangible cultural heritage projects including Huaiyuan Babao rice production skills, and 122 county-level intangible cultural heritage projects have been included in the list of representative items of intangible cultural heritage for protection.

Furthermore, Hechi actively integrates news media and social forces to promote national characteristic food culture.
