The Ministry of Commerce announced on Jan 27 the top 10 national-level economic and technological development zones (ETDZs) based on their performance in foreign trade for the year 2020.

The total import and export volume of the 217 national-level ETDZs hit 7 trillion yuan (about $1.1 trillion) in 2020, with an increase of 9.2 percent year-on-year. Together, they accounted for 21.7 percent of the gross total of the country.
