Qingweiliao, a homestay project with 11 boutique homestays built in its first phase, has injected vigor into Tuyu village – located in Hongshan town in the Zichuan district in Zibo city, in East China's Shandong province.
As the premier boutique homestay brand in Shandong province, the Qingweiliao project chose Tuyu village because it is widely regarded as having the best vantage point to take in glorious views of the Great Wall of Qi.
The village also retains a quaint and original style, with more than 300 well-preserved stone dwellings.
Moreover, Beijing Tourism Group has established a project company to build a new-style community in Tuyu.
Investors have pumped some 520 million yuan ($82.1 million) into the project and built 11 high-end homestays.
In addition, the project has become a magnet for young culturally creative people. Nearly 100 of them recently came to the village and brought their ideas about rural experience and rural aesthetics.
The project is expected to activate the rural economy and boost the incomes of locals.
