Coca-Cola China

Coca-Cola is one of the most well-known international brands in China. It has more than 20 brands and offer over 100 beverage choices to Chinese consumers. The Coca-Cola system has 46 bottling factories in China (including one in Guizhou province under construction) as of mid-January 2022. The Coca-Cola system today employs more than 49,000 people in China, 99% of whom are local hires.

From 2015 to 2017, Coca-Colahas invested $4 billion in China for future growth, building on $9 billion of investments made in the market since 1979.

Coca-Cola China has built wide cooperation with its bottling partners in China – Swire Coca-Cola and COFCO Coca-Cola and they will continue to expand investment in local supply chains to improve efficiency, ensure supply, and serve domestic consumers' demand.

COFCO Coca-Cola

COFCO Coca-Cola Beverages Limited (CBL) was established in 2000. As a joint venture between COFCO Corporation and Coca-Cola Company, CBL is also a specialized beverage business platform among COFCO Corporation.

Under the franchise of Coca-Cola Company, CBL manufactures, distributes, promotes and sells Coca-Cola series products in the franchised territories, and provides consumers with twenty brands of products in ten major types of beverages which include sparkling drink, juice, water, milk drink, energy drink, tea, coffee, functional nutrition drink, sports drink and plant-based protein drink.

CBL covers 19 provinces and municipalities (i.e., Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shandong, Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Chongqing, Inner Mongolia, Gansu, Ningxia, Qinghai, Tibet, Hunan and Guizhou). The territory represents 81% of the geographical area and 51% of the population of China.

· The 20th bottling factories

COFCO Coca-Cola recently invested a factory in Southwest China's Guizhou province - its 20th bottling factory in China, and the factory started construction in Guian New Area on July 28, 2020. The first stage of the factory covers an area of 156.5 mu (10.43 hectares) with an investment of 270 million yuan ($28.58 million). It will be equipped with two advanced plastic bottle packaging production lines and is expected to be put into operation in April 2022.

Swire Coca-Cola Limited

Swire Coca-Cola Limited, founded in 1965, is the fifth largest bottling partner of Coca-Cola Company. Under the franchise of Coca-Cola Company, Swire Coca-Cola offers 230 different beverage options across over 60 different brands, including a range of sparkling drinks, waters, teas, juice drinks, and sports drinks. Rethinking many of its recipes to reduce sugar, Swire Coca-Cola also offers low- and no-calorie options for many of its drinks.

It has the exclusive right to manufacture, market and distribute products of The Coca-Cola Company in 12 provinces and municipality in the Chinese mainland, as well as in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Taiwan region and an extensive area of the western USA. Its 26 production facilities in China and the USA cover 741 million people.

The headquarter of China’s Swire Coca-Cola is located in Pudong Jinqiao Export Process Area, shanghai. Its 18 bottling plants in Chinese mainland are mostly situated in China’s economic development zones, including:

Swire Coca-Cola’s recent expansion and reconstruction project is its Zhengzhou factory in Zhengzhou High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, Central China’s Henan province. This is the largest single investment by Swire Coca-Cola in China so far, with a total investment of no less than 900 million yuan ($140 million).
