2 Huangpu industrial parks deemed characteristic by Guangzhou

The Guangdong Software Science Park and South China Advanced Materials Innovation Park in Huangpu district were recently selected among the first batch of Guangzhou's characteristic industrial parks.

The 10 nominated industrial parks with distinct characteristics and core competitiveness will serve as high-quality industrial carriers to boost the aggregated development of Guangzhou's strategic emerging and advanced manufacturing industries.

Located in Guangzhou Science City, the Guangdong Software Science Park focuses on the development of the digital economy. It houses more than 400 enterprises engaged in embedded software development, integrated circuit design and software outsourcing.

The South China Advanced Materials Innovation Park covers an area of about 160 mu (10.67 hectares) in Guangzhou Science City and boasts four high-tech industrial clusters pertaining to new materials, biomedicine, electronic information and high-end equipment manufacturing.

The park has an occupancy rate of 100 percent and accommodates more than 500 enterprises. It has been recognized as a national science and technology enterprise incubation center, national maker space, Guangdong accelerator and Guangzhou strategic emerging industrial base.
