The Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (Auto China) is a biennial event for the global automobile industry, co-hosted by China Machinery Industry Federation, China National Machinery Industry Corporation Ltd, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers. It has been successfully held 16 times since its launch in 1990.

So far, more than 1,200 enterprises from 14 countries and regions and 815,000 visitors have participated in the show. With a total exhibition area of more than 220,000 square meters, Auto China has received media coverage from 48 countries and regions.

Under the background of COVID-19, Auto China 2020 was held in Beijing from Sep 26 to Oct 5, 2020, as the only worldwide top-level international auto show of that year. The event, which focused on intelligent networks and lightweight technologies, displayed a total of 785 vehicles, including 82 world premiere vehicles, 36 concept cars, and 160 new energy vehicles, in a 200,000 square meter area.

With a special exhibition area for international new energy vehicles, the 17th Beijing International Automobile Exhibition will focus on the cutting-edge technologies and products of domestic and foreign automotive industries, showcasing the innovations brought about by the combination of new technologies and the traditional automotive industry.

As a highly-regarded international auto show, Auto China has witnessed the history of integration, exchange and leapfrog development between China's automobile industry and the global automobile industry in the past thirty years. It plays a positive role in promoting trade cooperation and technology exchanges between domestic and foreign automotive industries. The show also contributes to the introduction of advanced foreign technologies into China.
