Beijing's Daxing district is issuing several measures to boost the medicine and healthcare-related industries.

Ten favorable measures are about to be rolled out on a trial basis, which will facilitate new medicine research, life sciences-related technological application, medical device and interdisciplinary integration industries, third-party service platforms and clinical research centers, and innovative collaboration models.

It was clarified that Daxing will provide up to 300 million yuan ($47.29 million) to support projects that have achieved core technological breakthroughs or innovative resource transformation. New medicine development will receive no more than 100 million yuan annually, while interdisciplinary integration projects involved in emerging technologies have the chance to receive a maximum of 10 million yuan.

In addition, certain amounts will be given to enterprises or institutes whose main business or new products earned an annual income of more than 500 million yuan, or that obtained domestic and foreign qualification certifications.

Social capital is encouraged to invest in a special fund for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements.

Units that cooperate in constructing clinical medicine research will be rewarded at most 30 million yuan. Specific actions include carrying out international multi-center clinical trials and building sample resource libraries, health big data platforms and evaluation platforms for medicines and medical devices.

The policies aim to continuously promote the innovation-driven development of the medicine and medical device industry, attract high-quality resources from home and abroad, and drive agglomerative growth.
