The 4th International Conference on Nanomedicine was held on Nov 13 and 14 with Guangzhou's Huangpu district being one of the host venues.
More than 25,700 people from China, the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, Singapore, and Ireland attended the conference on-site or online. Zhang Qiang, deputy director of the Chinese Pharmaceutical Association's Nanomedicine Professional Committee, chaired the opening ceremony.
Sun Xianze, president of the Chinese Pharmaceutical Association, Qiao Jie, executive vice president of Peking University, and Zhao Yuliang, director of the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology addressed all the attendees during the opening ceremony.
Yan Xiwen, Yan Deyue, Tian He, Guo Zijian, Chen Xuesi, Fan Chunhai, and Shi Jianlin from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Fan Daiming from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Kenneth Dawson from the Royal Irish Academy also delivered speeches based on their expertise in fundamental research, industrial transformation and clinical application during the conference in Haungpu.
The topics discussed at the conference included biomedical nanomaterials, nanobiology, nanomechanics, in vitro nanomedicine diagnosis, nanotoxicology and biosafety, nanomedicine analysis, and nano sensing and microfluidic technology.
The conference was jointly organized by the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology, Peking University's Health Science Center, the Chinese Pharmaceutical Association and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area National Institute for Nanotechnology Innovation. It provided a platform for the in-depth exchanges between scientific researchers, the government, enterprises and clinical staff from the nanomedicine sector.
