Guangxi aims for deeper cooperation with GBA

To enhance its cooperation with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region is bolstering its construction of the Pearl River-Xijiang River Economic Belt, which covers major cities in both Guangxi and Guangdong province.

The Pearl River-Xijiang River Economic Belt is the strategic hinterland of the Greater Bay Area and an important channel for the industrial transfer for the Greater Bay Area to western regions.

The Changzhou Hydraulic Complex, which has a world-leading yearly lock throughput, is located on Xijiang River.

In the Jan-Aug period, the ship lock throughput surpassed 100 million tons, greatly serving the GBA's development.
