The 2021 Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU 2021) was announced on Aug 15.

The 2021 Academic Ranking of World Universities saw a total of 157 universities from the Chinese mainland reach the top 1,000, including 72 in the top 500 and seven in the top 100.

Harvard University topped the list for the 19th year, while Tsinghua University, the top university among Chinese universities on the list, ranked 28th.

ARWU is one of the world's most influential and authoritative university rankings, widely reported on all over the world and boasting a large number of references.
