The double-degree program offered by Fudan University in Shanghai and Corvinus University of Budapest in Hungary recently held its first graduation ceremony, which was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Twenty-five graduates from the Class of 2019 (Spring) and the Class of 2019 (Fall) received two certificates at the graduation ceremony: a Master in Finance (MSc) from Fudan University and a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from Corvinus University of Budapest.

The program aims to train financial talents from Hungary and neighboring countries in Central and Eastern Europe and help them understand how China develops its economy.

Chen Zhimin, vice-principal of Fudan University, said at the ceremony that what the students have learned about China and Hungary would be helpful for their future career development.

Szanto Zoltan Oszkar, vice-principal of Corvinus University of Budapest, said the benefits of the program will last a lifetime. He also expressed his gratitude to the teachers from both universities.

Horvath Levente, a representative of the Hungarian National Bank, said that the bank has been supporting the program because there is a need for future leaders to understand the economy of China, which is poised to play a major role in the world.

Levente expects the graduates to build a bridge of friendship, exchange and cooperation between China, Hungary and Central and Eastern Europe.
