Wuhan, capital city of central China's Hubei province, plans to provide internship opportunities for university students to boost employment, local authorities said on July 27.

The city will offer 26,715 internship positions from 716 companies including state-owned enterprises and internship training bases.

The internship positions involve modern finance, cultural tourism, trade logistics, digital creativity and other pillar industries in Wuhan, covering a dozen majors such as logistics, medicine, law, electronics and construction.

Since the city rolled out new residency, housing and income policies for university graduates, 1.394 million university and college graduates have worked here in the past four years, of which 644,000 have established residency. As of 2020, 51.59 percent of university graduates have stayed in Wuhan. The proportion of non-native graduates has increased from 17.97 percent to 43.50 percent during the 10-year period.
