RCEP industrial cooperation center launched in Yantai

Zheng Deyan, mayor of Yantai, met with Xu Ningning, executive president of the China-ASEAN Business Council on June 9. The two sides had an in-depth exchange about deepening regional industrial cooperation.

The RCEP Industrial Cooperation and Development Center was launched during the meeting. The center will serve as a cooperation platform for international trade and a venue to host international exchange activities. It will promote cooperation in the equipment manufacturing, electronic information, biomedicine, and modern chemical industries.

Zheng said that Yantai is one of the first 14 coastal cities in China that was opened to the outside world and the city has been making efforts to seize the opportunities brought by the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) to boost the city's economic development.

He also expressed hope that the China-ASEAN Business Council would play an important role in promoting the development of ASEAN countries and Yantai.

Xu said that Yantai enjoys a favorable business environment and the China-ASEAN Business Council will give full play to its role as a link between the two sides to promote the integration of regional industries.
