BEIJING -- The incidence of adverse reactions to COVID-19 vaccines in China is 11.86 out of 100,000 doses, the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC) said on May 28.

A total of 31,434 cases of adverse reactions were reported from Dec 15, 2020 to April 30 this year when 265 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered across the Chinese mainland, said China CDC.

The incidence of severe adverse reactions is 0.07 out of 100,000 doses, which means severe reactions are very rare, said the agency.

The incidence of adverse reactions to COVID-19 vaccines is lower than the average incidence of adverse reactions to other vaccines reported in 2019, it added.
