The annual general assembly of the China Association of Travel Services' sub-association for inbound tourism discussed the resurgence in inbound tourism when it was held in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on April 16.

At the assembly, participants discussed Guizhou's development as a demonstration province for all-for-one tourism. They also discussed tourism developments including ethnic culture and mountain landscape tourism – as well as tourism sector clusters featuring, hot springs, cableways, health care homes, holiday villages and scenic spots, among other things.

By fine-tuning and improving its policies to attract more investment, Guizhou hopes to get more businesses to invest in the province and make it a leading global destination for mountain tourism and a top national destination for vacations.

The international exchanges and cooperation bureau of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism released a research report on 24 tourism markets in West and North Africa.

Liu Shijun, primary inspector of the bureau and secretary-general of the World Tourism Alliance, gave a speech on the development of inbound tourism amid the novel coronavirus pandemic.

According to Liu, resuming and developing inbound tourism is part of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism's work plan. Inbound tourism is expected to boost China's tourism development in the future.

Representatives and academics from travel agencies and associations discussed the current situation and problems and challenges facing inbound tourism, as well as exchanged their thoughts on the resumption of the inbound tourism market.

At the meeting, Guizhou company of China Youth Travel Service was selected as the vice-chair company of the China Association of Travel Services' sub-association for inbound tourism.
