Guiyang launches 'shopping season' to boost tourism consumption

Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, announced the opening of the 2021 culture and tourism "shopping season" on April 20. The season will run until November.

The shopping period will have six themed activities related to tea, online tourism promotion, shopping area promotion, scenic area promotion, recommended accommodations and winter tourism promotion.

All the activities aim to showcase Guiyang's tourism resources in the areas of dining, accommodation, transportation, sightseeing, shopping and entertainment. With one themed activity per month, the shopping season is expected to enrich Guiyang's tourism products and promote consumption upgrading.

People with accounts on online media platforms such as Weibo, WeChat, Douyin, Kuaishou and Xiaohongshu (little red book) can sign up for the activities to give publicity to high-quality tourism products.

The shopping season will also include a large-scale promotional event for tourism products held in September and October in cooperation with the Guizhou Tourism Industry Development Conference and ASEAN "Belt and Road" Tourism Culture Exchange Week.
