Few people can resist the charm of beer in a midsummer night. And when it comes to stories about beer, there is no other place in China able to relate them more vividly than the Tsingtao Beer Museum. After all, it’s the first and only beer-themed museum in China and a national first-class museum and foremost protected cultural heritage site. The museum was built by Tsingtao Brewery Co., Ltd and is located right at the site of the old factory that produced Tsingtao beer, which means it can guarantee you an honest-to-goodness taste of beer culture.

Covering 6,000 square meters, the museum consists of three exhibition areas distributed along two visiting routes, encompassing 35 spots to be explored. When you enter the first area -- history and culture -- the fountain sculpture of "Cheers to the World" outside the building is the first thing to catch your eye. By carrying on you will learn about the origin, history and the development of Tsingtao Beer in detail through pictures, documents and displayed cultural relics.

In the area of technological production, various beer brewing equipment and beer-brewing raw materials are displayed, such as the old Siemens generator made in 1896 (one of the most precious treasures of the museum), a fermentation cylinder and different kinds of malt. If you are curious about the beer production process, visit the beer saccharification and fermentation workshop and understand the complex beer brewing procedure with the aid of some modern technologies such as holographic projection and a touch-sensitive screen.

In the multi-functional area, you can do more than you might imagine. For example, experiencing 4D technology and riding a sensory bicycle in the beer cabin, tasting unfiltered Qingdao beer in Tsingtao 1903, a flagship restaurant bar, or buying souvenirs in the shopping center. It can be said that this museum perfectly integrates avant-garde design concepts and high technology and is as a full-featured cultural facility combining education and entertainment.
