Foreigners in Guangdong can apply to be vaccinated at their expense on a voluntary and consensual basis that acknowledges any possible risks or side-effects that could arise from the vaccination.

Guangdong province currently uses domestically-developed inactivated COVID-19 vaccines, and two doses are required for the entire course. Foreigners who have already participated in the social security and medical insurance of Guangdong province share the same treatment as other Chinese citizens, who can be vaccinated free of charge. For those who have not participated in the social security and medical insurance of Guangdong province, they will be vaccinated at their own expense – the cost is 100 yuan ($15.25) per dose.

Foreigners in Guangdong who want to be vaccinated on a voluntary basis will need to register online through the Yuejiantong WeChat service platform. Please note that the schedule of vaccinations for foreigners across different cities in Guangdong will vary.

After the appointment is successfully made, foreigners can bring their permanent residence ID card or their passport with the valid residence permit and go to the designated site at the appointed time for vaccination.

Before vaccination, one needs to follow the procedures, including giving informed consent, exemption commitment, etc., and proactively informing medical staff of any abnormal personal health status.

Medical personnel will determine whether you meet the vaccination requirements or not. Please pay close attention to your physical condition within 14 days of vaccination. If you feel unwell, please consult the doctor in time.

The Yuejiantong WeChat Service Wechat Platform QR Code is available below, which will become effective on April 12.
