Before submitting an application, good preparation is crucial. Have a clear picture in your mind of what you really want to do or achieve, and think about why graduate school is the right springboard to help you reach your goals.

Studying at PKU Shenzhen (PKUSZ)
PKUSZ is the second campus of PKU. It is located in southern China. PKUSZ is comprised of eight academic schools: the School of Electronic and Computer Engineering, the School of Chemical Biology and Biotechnology, the School of Environment & Energy, the School of Urban Planning & Design, the School of Advanced Materials, the HSBC Business School, the School of Transnational Law and the School of Humanities & Social Sciences.

You can meet friends from around the world and enjoy the lifestyle of a highly-developed city.

Internationalized English Programs
Currently, two of the academic schools at PKUSZ — HSBC Business School (PHBS) and School of Transnational Law (STL) — offer fully-English language programs. These schools boast a highly qualified and diverse faculty and the top international accreditation.

Here are the English-language programs currently offered at PKUSZ:

PHBS:
– Master of Management

– Master of Finance

– Master of Economics

– MBA (Chinese-English program)

STL:
– LL.M.

These degrees are two-year programs. However, many students are also able to complete internships in their second year.

If you are interested, find the information on the website of the individual school and follow their instructions for applying. Do not hesitate to contact admissions staff if you have any enquiries.

Essential documents:
1) Completed Peking University Application Form for International Students with a recent photograph

2) Statement of Purpose in English (no longer than two pages, double-spaced)

3) Notarized copies of degree certificate in English (graduating students shall present a letter of certification for graduation)

4) Confidential Recommendation Forms from two referees

5) Official transcripts, in English, from all the universities the applicant has attended

6) Certified TOEFL or IELTS score reports

7) Copy of passport

8) CV

Here is some general advice for your Statement of Purpose:
1) State your abilities and strengths which match the program.

2) Outline your achievements.

3) Tell the admissions team why the school and its program is the place for you.

4) Make it concise and catch our attention. The prose should be coherent and free of any grammatical errors.

Another thing to take note of is that PKU requires you to mail your application materials to the specified address. Contact the admissions staff to ensure this process goes smoothly for you. It is encouraged to have a check-list for all your application materials to ensure that every piece of your application is successfully received.
