Hechi government work report released

The sixth session of the fourth Hechi Municipal People's Congress commenced on March 2 in Hechi's Jinchengjiang district, with 337 deputies attending the meeting.

Wang Jun, acting mayor of the city, delivered the government work report for 2020, noting that the city has concluded its 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-20).

Hechi saw its regional gross domestic product increase by 5.1 percent year-on-year in 2020, and the output value of industrial companies with annual revenue of more than 20 million yuan ($3.09 million) expanded by 9.3 percent.

The city's fixed-asset investment grew by 13.8 percent year-on-year and its fiscal revenues climbed by 4.3 percent. Its total import and export volume increased by 51 percent in 2020.

The per capita disposable income of Hechi's urban residents increased by 4.1 percent year-on-year in 2020, while for rural residents this figure hit 9.2 percent.

Achievements were also made in areas spanning the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic, the fight against extreme poverty, industrial transformation and upgrading, transportation construction, urban and rural planning as well as the environment.

Wang pointed out that 2021 marks the start of the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25) as well as the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.

The city will strive to increase its GDP by around 8.5 percent year-on-year and increase its fixed-asset investment by 15 percent. Its total import and export volume is expected to grow by 8 percent and the growth rate of the consumer price index will be controlled at around 3 percent.
