Wuxi awards key foreign investment projects

Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province hosted an award ceremony for foreign investment projects and enterprises on Feb 26.

In 2020, Wuxi worked to improve its business environment and implemented a variety of policies to attract foreign investment, which has successfully attracted the attention of international enterprises and investors.

Wuxi saw its actual use of foreign capital last year hit $3.62 billion. Investments from international corporate heavyweights promoted the city's development over the past year, and in 2020, a total of 70 projects receiving $30 million each in investment were approved and registered in the city, 20 more than in 2019.

A total of six enterprises were awarded major foreign investment projects, including Wuxi Yakult Co Ltd, Wuxi Sharp Electronic Components Co Ltd, Wuxi 7Road Technology Co, Wuxi STA Pharmaceutical Technology Co Ltd, Cutia Therapeutics Wuxi Co, and Impro (China) Limited.

Samsung (Wuxi) Electronic Materials Co Ltd and Linamar Automotive Systems (Wuxi) Co Ltd also won a foreign-capital enterprise talent award.

Wuxi Mayor Du Xiaogang attended the ceremony and thanked international investors for supporting Wuxi's development.

He said that Wuxi will continue to provide high-quality services for foreign investors in the city this year.
