A batch of 12 tons of scallop seedlings worth over $20,000 was recently exported to South Korea from the China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Yantai Area. The maximum appreciation value of these goods after export can be up to 1,000 percent, local media reported.

The Yantai free trade zone has been making great efforts in promoting the exports of aquatic products in recent years. It has developed the world’s leading aquaculture techniques, providing strong technical support for the development of the marine seedling industry service trade.

Since 2020, Yantai FTZ has exported more than 4,300 tons of aquatic products, including puffer fish, octopus, bass and shellfish, to Japan and South Korea.

The area will deepen cooperation with marine scientific research institutes and promote trade cooperation with South Korean enterprises in the fields of aquaculture, aquatic products processing, healthcare, and ecological tourism.
