The Museum of Shanxi Normal University, founded in 2004, is home to about 10,000 cultural relics, covering bronzes, ceramics, calligraphy, paintings, fossils, stone tools and jades. It enjoys an outstanding reputation for its collection among domestic universities.
With an exhibition area of 1,000 square meters, the museum displays the history and culture of Shanxi province. In the 400-sq-m pavilion exhibiting the historical relics of Shanxi during the pre-Qin period (c.2100-221 BC), there are 220 heritage artifacts, including two national first grade cultural relics.
