State Council approves assembling Asian Youth Games organizing committee

The General Office of the State Council issued a circular on Nov 16, approving the establishment of the organizing committee for the 3rd Asian Youth Games, which will take place in Guangdong province in 2021.

Approval was also granted over proposed candidates for committee presidents — Gou Zhongwen, head of the General Administration of Sport of China, and Ma Xingrui, governor of Guangdong provincial government.

According to the circular, the committee can make independent decisions on internal working groups and members as necessary.
