According to the statistics of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE), the Chinese foreign exchange market (excluding foreign currency pairs, the same below) recorded total transactions of 18.99 trillion yuan (equivalent to USD 2.74 trillion) in August 2020.
Specifically, the transactions volume of the bank to customer market was 2.53 trillion yuan (equivalent to USD 364.3 billion), the transactions volume of interbank market was 16.47 trillion yuan (equivalent to USD 2.37 trillion), the cumulative transactions volume of the spot market was 7.31 trillion yuan (equivalent to USD 1.05 trillion), and that of the derivatives market was 11.68 trillion yuan (equivalent to USD 1.69 trillion).
