Hechi's catering industry recovers from COVID-19 pandemic

Due to the successful implementation of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) prevention and control measures, the catering industry in Hechi has gradually recovered from the COVID-19 pandemic. As of the end of July, 10,404 offline and 2,747 online catering service units have resumed their work, while 1,555 market entities were newly established.

Registration services for the catering industry have been optimized. Market supervision departments at all levels have been providing high-quality services, such as zero business start-up costs, as well as issuing online licenses and mobile phone licenses, to enable enterprises to obtain food business licenses and small catering permits within 10 days.

Relevant government departments have promoted street markets and the nighttime economy, simplifying the registration process and filing of night food restaurants and small workshops. To date, the city has designated a total of 145 temporary operating streets and districts, increased the number of night stalls to operate more than 1,100 small restaurants, as well as helped more than 3,000 people get employed.

Hechi has also fully implemented the supporting policies for the resumption of work and production in the catering industry, as well as guided enterprises in innovating their business models to combine online ordering and offline dine-in services. In addition, the city has also required practitioners of third-party online catering service platforms, such as Meituan and Eleme, to understand the COVID-19 guidelines for health protection. To date, 2,747 online catering service units operate in the city, 219 more than last year.

The market supervision departments have also supervised the implementation of COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control measures, such as personal protection of employees, as well as the cleaning and disinfection of business premises. It has also issued publicity posters to promote healthy ways of serving meals.
