The flight service from Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province to the Portuguese capital of Lisbon recently resumed, according to Beijing Capital Airlines.

Operating with an Airbus A330 wide-body airliner, the flight is scheduled for once a week, departing Xi'an every Saturday at 1:10 am.

According to the operator, it is the only direct route between China and Portugal.

Airline officials said it will build an air bridge in the fields of economic and trade, cultural exchanges and business tourism between China and Portugal and other Portuguese-speaking countries.

It will also provide guaranteed air transportation for the return of local overseas Chinese and overseas Chinese students.

Passengers without Portuguese nationality entering Portugal on international flights are required to board the aircraft with a negative nucleic acid test report within 72 hours, according to the recent Portuguese entry policy.

Meanwhile, passengers entering China on international flights must be of Chinese nationality, according to the relevant policies of the Civil Aviation Administration of China.

They also must fill in personal information through the WeChat applet of the international version of the anti-epidemic health code. Only after obtaining the green health code can they board the plane.
