July 28: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On July 27, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 68 new cases of confirmed infections (4 imported cases, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Beijing municipality and 1 in Yunnan province; 64 indigenous cases, 57 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 6 in Liaoning province and 1 in Beijing), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 16 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 184 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 1.

As of 24:00 on July 27, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 2,053 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 1,971 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 82 confirmed cases (including 2 in serious condition) and 1 suspected case.

As of 24:00 on July 27, the National Health Commission had received reports of 83,959 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 78,934 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 391 confirmed cases (including 20 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case. 782,284 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 14,590 were still under medical observation.

On July 27, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 34 new asymptomatic cases (including 6 imported cases). 6 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 24 cases became confirmed cases (all were indigenous cases). As of 24:00 on July 27, 306 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 88 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on July 27, 3,286 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 2,778 in Hong Kong (22 had died and 1,486 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 462 in Taiwan (7 had died and 440 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
