China's success in controlling the COVID-19 epidemic means the economy is steadily reviving. The following facts and figures indicate how the country is forging ahead in resuming work and production:

— Profits and revenues of China's State-owned and State-controlled enterprises (SOEs) posted this year's first year-on-year growth in June, the Ministry of Finance said.

Last month, profits rose by 6 percent from the previous year, while revenues increased by 7.1 percent.

Jan-June profits of SOEs fell by 38.8 percent year-on-year to 1.12 trillion yuan (about $160 billion). The decline was 13.9 percentage points smaller than that registered in the first five months.

— A trade fair on green development opened on July 23 in Northwest China's Qinghai province, featuring online contract signing for the first time due to the COVID-19 epidemic.

The 21st Qinghai China Investment and Trade Fair for Green Development was unveiled in the provincial capital Xining, with 17 projects signed online.

The projects, with a total planned investment of 8.32 billion yuan, are in fields including infrastructure construction, environmental protection and cultural tourism.

— Finnair resumed passenger flight services between Shanghai and Helsinki on July 23, linking the eastern Chinese municipality with the capital of Finland.

China continues to play a key role in the airline's strategy and Finnair is looking forward to increasing its service to the Chinese market, according to the airline.

The Shanghai-Helsinki route will be serviced by A350 aircraft, with one round-trip flight every week. The flights depart from the Helsinki Vantaa International Airport each Thursday and return from Shanghai Pudong International Airport each Saturday.
