The Belt and Road Overseas Development Service Platform (Wuxi) was officially put into operation June 29, with the aim to provide better services for Wuxi enterprises to open foreign markets under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

The Wuxi service platform will make use of overseas Chinese associations, overseas Chinese-funded enterprises, overseas industrial parks and friendly cities to help Wuxi enterprises expand new spaces for opening-up and introduce more quality foreign-funded projects.

Zhou Jiannong, president of Jiangsu Provincial Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, delivered a keynote speech during the launch ceremony.

Zhou said he hoped the Wuxi service platform could work under the national development strategy to provide high-quality services and pilot the construction of such service platforms for overseas Chinese in the province.

During the launch ceremony, an agreement was signed for the service platform to cooperate with various financial institutions and transnational economic organizations, including the Wuxi Branch of Bank of China, Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce and China Chamber of Commerce in Sihanoukville, Cambodia.

The Wuxi Service Center for Returned Overseas Chinese was also established.
