Zhoushan in East China's Zhejiang province resumed its flight to Beijing on June 2, according to local media reports.
The flight has been transferred to the Beijing's Daxing International Airport.
The flight, operated by Xiamen Airlines, makes one round trip between Zhoushan and Beijing every day. It departs from Beijing for Zhoushan at 5:55 pm and flies back at 9:30 pm on the same day.
A spokesman from the Zhoushan business department of Xiamen Airlines said that the adjustment of the flight's destination from Beijing Capital Airport to the city's Daxing International Airport is a recognition from the airliner for the route, adding that they will strive to open more routes from Zhoushan to other cities in China and Southeast Asian countries.
A staff member at Zhoushan Putuoshan Airport pointed out that the resumption of the flight to Beijing will help the airport attract more business travellers and cushion against the adverse effects caused by the COVID-19 outbreak.
With the opening of temples on Putuo Mountain, the airport will strengthen promotional efforts and roll out more service products tailored to customers, he added.
Meanwhile, the airport will continue to work tirelessly to prevent and control the epidemic.
