Guangzhou attends UCLG executive board meeting

Liu Baochun, director of the foreign affairs office of the Guangzhou municipal government, attended the online executive board meeting of the United Cities and Local Government (UCLG) on May 29 on behalf of Guangzhou.

The meeting was hosted by Mohamed Boudra, president of UCLG and mayor of Al Hoceima, Morocco. 

Participants like Maimunah Mohd Sharif, under-secretary-general of the United Nations and the executive director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), Fabrizio Hochschild, UN under-secretary-general and special councilor for the celebration of the UN's 75th anniversary, as well as Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the director-general of the World Health Organization (WHO), delivered speeches during the meeting.

The meeting was also attended by around 300 guests, including mayors of UCLG member cities like Rome, Italy, Barcelona, Spain, and Bogota, Colombia, as well as 10 executive board cities in China like Xi'an in Shaanxi province, Beijing, and Guangzhou.
