A lab dedicated to the research and development of food macromolecule resource processing technology was recently inaugurated in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province.
The lab, jointly established by the Zhejiang Provincial Institute of Marine Development and the Zhejiang University of Technology, is the city's first national key light industry lab.
The facility will play an important role in promoting the development of the city's marine biology industry, according to a researcher at the Zhejiang Provincial Institute of Marine Development.
The lab will take advantage of resources in the Yangtze River delta region and the entire food industrial chain of the greater bay area of Zhejiang province and focus on research related to the high-value utilization of biological resources so as to boost the development of the food macromolecular industry in China.
