Qingpu district in Shanghai, Wujiang district in Suzhou, Jiangsu province, and Jiashan county in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province recently signed a memorandum of understanding to share data with each other and better coordinate public services.
The three regions are located in a demonstration zone for the ecofriendly and integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta (YRD), which was established on Nov 1, 2019.
According to an overall plan for the zone's development, a YRD data center will be built in the zone and the three regions will share data related to transportation, travel, culture, and environmental protection.
However, barriers currently exist due to different laws and regulations in the three regions. The memorandum will address these problems by improving relevant laws and regulations, formulating unified technical standards and norms, and establishing information sharing mechanisms.
By sharing data and information, the three regions hope to eliminate repetitive registration procedures and reduce the number of documents needed by enterprises and individuals, thus enhancing the business climate and public services.
