Amid the further containment of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), China is powering ahead in returning to work and resuming business and production. The following are the latest facts and figures:

— China's auto production and sales rebounded in April thanks to a slew of government stimulus measures and the accelerating restoration of business activities, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers said on May 11.

Automobile sales increased by 4.4 percent year-on-year to 2.07 million units last month, ending a contraction streak over the past 21 months.

Output hit 2.1 million units, up 2.3 percent year-on-year, the data showed.

— Energy supplies including coal, oil and natural gas are sufficient in China as the whole sector has basically resumed work and production, official data showed on May 11.

The daily output of coal mines has reached around 10 million metric tons, according to the National Energy Administration.

— The Shanghai Disneyland theme park reopened to visitors with a controlled capacity on May 11, after the COVID-19 epidemic in China became more subdued.

This is the first Disneyland theme park in the world that has reopened since the outbreak of COVID-19.

The Shanghai Disney Resort announced temporary closure in late January in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. It reopened the Disneytown, Wishing Star Park and Shanghai Disneyland Hotel in early March.
